1 Question from Dr. Wan Razarinah Binti Wan Abdu Razak Is there any correlation between the density of the mychorizzal genus density and the density of plants growth surround the area? is it significantly correlated?
Answer from presenter In this study, specifically, the correlation was not investigated. However, mycorrhizal fungi are known to form a symbiotic relationship with plants, providing nutrients and aiding in their growth. In many cases, positive correlations have been observed between the presence of mycorrhizal fungi and plant growth in their vicinity, as the fungi facilitate nutrient absorption for the plants. On the other hand, in some cases, a negative correlation has been observed between the density of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal infection and root density. Growth responses due to mycorrhizal fungi decrease when there is limited soil available for the plants. To further understand whether there is a significant correlation in a specific area, scientific studies need to be conducted, involving the collection of data on mycorrhizal fungal density and plant growth density, followed by statistical analysis to establish the strength and significance of their relationship. Correlations may vary depending on factors such as plant species, soil conditions, and environmental factors.
